Summer Tour - Part 1
As always post Shavuot I was very fried and needed to take a breather from the kitchen and re energize for my summer tour. This year's tour (the first post covid) is a little different. I didn't take to the road but flew to the East Coast and will be traveling from event to event before I fly back to Houston. I started my visit east with planning a freezer stock for my sister as she is overdue to give birth to her first child. She was super easy going yet had a few requests. First on her list was chicken soup with Matzo balls. She now has at least three meals in her freezer. Next up, cheese blintz, 32 are headed to her freezer. And on Sunday I will continue to prepare her requests. Stuffed cabbage (other siblings and my parents have also put in their requests for this), Veggie Lasagna, Chicken Shnitzel, and a few other things hopefully before I head home. Being able to cook for my family is always a gift of love I am happy to be able to give.
Last Tuesday evening I was in Baltimore Maryland where I had the pleasure of facilitating a cooking class at the Park Heights JCC. Sushi, Summer Rolls & Sips. The event sold out and was a huge success. Thank you so much to Laura Leventhal Kurcfeld for bringing me in as a demonstrator and to Guta Weissman for helping with the prep.
Next week I am hosting a hands on dinner in a private residence. Tikka Tikka Bollywood, A Night of Indian Fusion. The guests don’t just get to enjoy the delicious food they actually help to prepare it. The menu for this event includes GF Naan, Samosa Salad, Pickled Cucumbers, Chickpea Vegetable Curry, Palak Paneer, Jasmine Rice, Kerala Style Salmon, and Bakalva Twists. Perfect recipes for the nine days!
