What a Month
Well I don’t like to make excuses, but it’s been an insane month. Between not feeling well and then insane weather that shut down Texas and oy not feeling well again I have been absent and haven’t written here. My apologies. Not feeling well presents its own challenges and I am grateful I keep my freezer stocked with a variety of soups. I am also grateful to friends that made sure I had more soup. Sometimes a warm bowl of love and a strong dose of antibiotics is all it takes. LOL. Thank Gd.
The deep freeze that hit Texas was another thing. We were nervous but really weren’t sure what would happen. We always keep bottled water on hand (we have learned living here in hurricane land), we let our faucets drip and prayed for the best. We were in the grand scheme of things lucky. We only lost power and heat for a little over 24 hours and well water was a citywide issue. Our pipes didn’t freeze, and I was ever so grateful for a gas cooktop. We were able to have hot food and boil our water. All in all though I am glad that this has passed and we will be better prepared next time (I would be clueless to think it won’t happen again).
In the midst of all of this I entered a competition being sponsored by Bon Appetite magazine. The contest called Favorite Chef is for a cash prize and an opportunity to be featured in an article in the magazine. Please take a few minutes and vote for me - I have made it through the first two rounds and would love to continue on. You can vote once a day for free on Facebook or if you are not a Facebook member you can purchase votes from the Favorite Chef website. All proceeds go to benefit Feed America. Your support means so much to me. TIA.
