A Nine Days Menu
The first nine days of the Hebrew month of Av and the tenth day are intense days of mourning as we observe the destruction of both the first and second Beit Hamigdash. We don’t eat meat (including poultry) or drink wine with the exception of Shabbat. This can be challenging for people that are used to eating chicken and meat for dinner during hte week. As my family's diets have changed over the years and become more plant based during hte week that has become less of a challenge. Below is the menu I will be serving in my house this week.
Sunday - (we are planning on attending a brit milah this evening so dinner maybe whatever they serve)
Monday - Salmon Patties w/ Big Leafy Green Salad
Tuesday - Baked Pizza Roll w/ Green leafy Salad
Wednesday - Assorted Salads from my Summer Salads Class
Thursday - Oven Baked Fish Schnitzel w/ Cole Slaw & Steamed Veggies
It’s simple and for me low stress. Not very different from our regular meals and not loaded with heavy carbs and pasta.
Enjoy!
