Not Such a Great Mix

Well, between Passover and Shavuot life got beyond crazy.  Health issues that culminated in both my DH and I battling covid over the long Shavuot holiday and the weeks since.  Thank God we are both well on our journey of recovery but it took a toll on both of us.  Cooking and writing were put on the back burner for a bit. I just didn’t have the energy. As someone that took precautions very seriously and really limited social interactions that we both tested positive and had this virus came as a shock in and of itself. I am extremely grateful to God and to modern medicine for giving us the tools to fight this. All I know is if we were as sick as we were with being vaccinated and being super cautious I can’t imagine how sick we could have been.

One positive thing that I was able to work on while sick was creating the new recipe of the month cards and subscription style boxes. I am super excited about these and the July recipes for five salad dressings are so yummy! The July box features all of the ingredients for you to make one of the dressings PLUS a rubber spout that fits on any traditional mason jar, turning it into a salad dressing cruet. How cool is that! The plan with the future boxes is that they will include ingredients to make a recipe and some interesting gadget or tool that can be used with the recipe as well. The recipe cards are listed at $1.50 plus the base shipping fee of $10. The recipe box this month is $60 plus shipping.  THe price on the box will vary each month based on contents. For the time being these items are only available for shipping within the United States but I am working on international shipping. If you are interested and live outside of the US please email me and I can arrange shipping privately. 

I will also be introducing a few new Artisan Spice Rubs over the course of the next month.  Look for the new flavors to be available by the end of July. They will include:

Shoshi’s Schwarma Rub, Perfectly Spicy Peri Peri and Jammin’ Jamaican Jerk Rub.

If possible I will start to post weekly menus again. It is a habit that really makes life simpler - even if on occasion I toss the plan out the window.  To get started here is this weeks menu:

Meatless Monday - Israeli Metza Bar - Cabbage Salad, Moroccan Carrot Salad, Hummus, Chopped Salad, Quinoa Tabouli & Dolmas

Tuesday - “Belt” Sandwiches from “Secret Restaurant Recipes” 

Wednesday - Chicken, Garlic, Onion & Tomato Sauce Focacia Bread (made from my challah dough) w/  a green leafy salad

Thursday - Onion Soup w/ Grilled Cheese Sandwiches & a Green Leafy Salad
